(July 8, 2014) Dee Matchett, pictured above, leads a Carson-Newman University class on East
Tennessee culture. Matchett, a graduate student of Teaching English as a Second Language, is
helping with the Universitys summer American culture program for Taiwanese students this month. The twelve high school and college-age students from Taiwan are on campus to learn English and explore American culture. Program events include experiencing traditional Christmas festivities at the home of Carson-Newman President Randall and Kay OBrien, visiting Pigeon Forges Dixie Stampede, and taking part in a Fourth of July celebration in Knoxville
