Equipment: 9 Day Old 250t Leibherr Crane
(never used before)

Values: $4 mill price tag
What went wrong.
Insufficient risk analysis and planning.
Failure of back propping beneath the 200mm thick
concrete deck.
Crane support outrigger punched through slab causing
crane to lose balance and collapse across the site and
onto adjoining property.
The Crane balanced in the air for approx 1 hour before
entire rig & boom collapsed completely across site and
rig falls through to the basement level.
Amazingly no-one was seriously injured or killed.
