The changes that are most notable are:

-Surgical diets are separate as well for gastric bypass and similar

Patient Pain Education Tool
-Aurora Davis
Aurora introduced herself and presented a PowerPointabout the
new patient pain education tool as well as passed around a TIP
sheet.
Due to UCH not meeting the combined HCAHPS goal of 74.3% of
patients reporting that their pain is always well controlled, this new
patient education tool was created in order to adequately educate
patients on their pain and how we regard it.
This new pain-teaching tool will be printed on bright orange paper
and will be added to the patients road map to care packet upon
arrival to the hospital. This should be used to open a dialogue with
the patient about pain. This will also be available in Spanish. And is
available via the DOD #of PED05219
Included in this sheet are answers to:
What is pain?
How do I report pain? (utilizing the pain scale)
How can I make my pain better?
What is a pain goal (also known as comfort-function goal)?

Shooting for a May 1
st

Kassidy will email out the
PowerPoint to educators to
