To Whom it May Concern,

I am writing this letter to recommend my colleague, Ms. Courtney Kofeldt, for the
position of Mentor for the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School. I have known
Ms. Kofeldt for four years and have worked closely with her for the past two years
teaching ninth grade English.

Ms. Kofeldt is a caring, knowledgeable, meticulous, creative, and professional teacher
who takes her career seriously and cares deeply about her students and colleagues. She
has strong communication skills and is able to effectively communicate with students
and parents over the phone, via email, and in person. She is an organized and an
efficient planner who can produce accurate written and verbal documentation. Ms.
Kofeldt, while incredibly knowledgeable, is also humble and open-minded, and willing
to take constructive criticism to revise her work when needed. Ms. Kofeldt always
goes above and beyond expectations, not merely just doing her job, but displaying a
passion for her career and for helping her students succeed.

Ms. Kofeldt is overwhelmingly creative and innovative in her lesson presentation and
course design. She has a wealth of information to offer to any new or current teacher at
Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School. Every one of Ms. Kofeldts lessons are
polished, detailed, and impressive. Ms. Kofeldt herself is also a polished person,
having the highest level of tact and respect for her students and colleagues that I have
ever seen displayed in a school environment.

Over the two years that I have worked with Ms. Kofeldt as my grade partner teaching
ninth grade, my knowledge of presentation software and general technology skills has
grown exponentially. Ms. Kofeldt has an answer for every question that I ask her,
specifically regarding technology, and she is always cheerful, polite, clear, and helpful.
Some specific things that she has taught me include adding animations to iSpring,
adding music to and editing Camtasia presentations, adding video to presentations,
creating artistic labels for my class and my lessons, and dressing up lessons with
different font styles, borders, and colors. Ms. Kofeldt has helped me to improve my
lessons far more than any other teacher in the school. Ms. Kofeldt is already an
unofficial mentor to current teachers at our school, so a move into this leadership
position would be a natural transition for her.

I would characterize Ms. Kofeldts professionalism as outstanding. From the moment I
first met her, she has demonstrated those characteristics always associated with
excellent teachers: high expectations, sensitivity to her students and colleagues,
organization and creativity in lesson planning, command of her subject matter,
openness to new ideas, a willingness to self-reflect, a commitment to her school, and a
rich sense of humor.

I recommend Ms. Kofeldt for the position of Mentor for the Pennsylvania
Leadership Charter School without hesitation.

Please feel free to contact me for any addition information that you feel would be
helpful in your decision.

Respectfully Yours,

Mrs. Lisa M. Morrow
