Career Objective To instill a love of learning in students while fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to learn both personally and academically through the use of differentiated instruction.
Educational Philosophy (RAP - Relationships, Active Learning, Preparing students for the 21st Century) Relationships Developing relationships within the classroom is a key foundation in order for all students to achieve success. Developing a safe classroom environment, where students will be willing to take risks and speak out. As a teacher, I am here to support and encourage students and their individual needs. Active Learning I seek to actively engage my students in their own learning. People learn best by doing. I strive to develop fun and exciting lessons for my students, where they are involved in developing their own meanings of content. Through strategies such as cooperative and project-based learning, students will make real-world connections and gain more meaningful learning opportunities. Preparing Students for the 21 st century I encourage creativity, risk-taking and the development of interpersonal skills. It is important to integrate technology and media literacy into the classroom. I strive to get students thinking on an international scale, by encouraging global citizenship, and becoming involved members of their school and community.
