c. Vocabulary Quizzes 10%
d. Exams/Projects 70%

Tutoring: On every Wednesday and Thursday, I will be
here after school from 2:15 to 3:15 PM to help you out
with any problems you are having in class. Ms. Andrews
(Rm. 122) will be after school on Monday and Tuesday
from 2:15 to 3:15 PM as well. If those designated times
dont fit with your schedule, please come see me and
we can work something out! I am here for you, so
please utilize me

What YOU Need For Class: Every student needs to bring the following items to class EVERY DAY
1. Bound notebook (NO SPIRAL NOTEBOOKS!)
2. Pen or pencil
3. Calculator (If you have one you want to use)

You will be given a portfolio that stays in class to store your exams, quizzes, unit packets and vocabulary sheets.
You are welcome to bring items home for a night or two to study, but the portfolio must stay in class. (Remember to
bring all items back before the end of the quarter because its a professionalism grade!)

Classroom Policies:
1. Rules:
a. As a class, we will be making our own set of rules regarding respectful behavior, so for now this is TBD.
b. The only non-negotiable rules are as follows:
i. No eating of any kind during class and laboratory activities
ii. No using of fire/safety protection equipment unless in an emergency situation
2. Consequences:
a. Per teacher discretion, I can skip consequences if the violation warrants a more severe consequence. The
usual consequences are as follows:
i. Warning
ii. Seat Change
iii. Individual Conference
iv. Alternative Assignment and Loss of Lab/Group Work Participation
v. Phone Call Home
vi. Referral to Office (*Repeat offenders will be put on Behavior Plans*)
3. Expectations/Procedures:
a. Entering the Class: Get rid of anything inappropriate (food, headphones, hats, anything against ISS
regulations, etc.), grab your unit packet and answer the CATALYST questions in your assigned seat.
b. Speaking in Class: Raise your hand! I cant hear you if more than one person speaks at a time, so it just
makes communication clearer for everyone in class.
c. Handing in Work: Whenever you finish work, place it in the designated crate before you leave.
d. Bathroom: You get 1 emergency pass per semester (2 per year) to use the bathroom. The school wide
20/20 rule applies; you cant leave the first or last 20 minutes of class or per the discretion of
administration.
e. Absences: If you miss class for whatever reason (excused or not excused), its your responsibility to get
your missed work. I will upload all class notes and classwork on my website: https://ms-
hanly.weebly.com. If you have questions on anything, please feel free to email me at
megan.hanly@mnps.org.
f. Exiting Class: Class ends when the bell rings. Consequences will be given to those who leave without
permission.
g. Forgotten/Broken Writing Utensils: If you dont have a writing utensil or if yours breaks, I have a few
that I can give out. However, I need collateral (ie- headphones, keys, watches, hats, etc.) for my property
until it is returned.
h. Tardy: If you are late to class, either (1) place your pass quietly on my desk for excused tardies or (2) sign
in on the tardy sheet for unexcused tardies.
i. Cell Phones and Electronics: Turn them off before coming to class! If you play on your phone or other
electronic, I will give you an envelope to place it in. If you take it out of the envelope or play with it
while its in the envelope, I will take and give it back to you after class. Repeat offenders will have
phones taken automatically. Arguments will result in referrals.
j. CHEATING: Failing grades, phone calls home, and referrals will be received for cheating. Any make-up
assignments must be completed after school during tutoring or ISS.
k. Uniforms: Comply with ISS standards for uniforms. Arguments will result in referrals.
