What is Math Pentathlon (MP)?
A program of interactive problem solving games, supportive
curricular and instructional activities, and assessment tools
for students
The 3 Divisions are:
1. Division I for grades K and 1
2. Division II for grades 2 and 3
3. Division III for grades 4 and 5
Kids are taught 5 Math games specific to their Division
An Academic Tournament for each Division is held in March,
April and May (depending on the division) in which kids may
participate, if they choose. At the Tournament, our kids will
play with children (in the same Grade) from other schools in
the state

Time: 7:00-7:45am or 3:00-3:45pm
Venue: England Elementary
Frequency: Once a week (From October 2014- March/April
2015)
Day of the week: TBD by coaches
Cost to families: $20 Cash/Check only during registration
(excludes Tournament fee)
Structure
Advanced group all kids who have already been part of a
Math Pentathlon club for their current Division (at England
or elsewhere)
Beginners group all kids who are in their Division for the
first time


Registration/Enrollment
IN-PERSON REGISTRATIONS ONLY September 15, 2014, 5:00 6:00pm @ England Library. Registration
Forms will be available on our website from September 08, 2014.
LIMITED spots are available, so line up early at the Registration Event with completed sign-up form & $20 Cash/Check
For every registering child, parent MUST be willing to volunteer as a Game Monitor* for at least 3 continuous Sessions and 1 session
at the end closer to the tournament. (Training will be provided to all Volunteers)
Only those kids whose parent(s) sign up as a Coach, will be guaranteed a spot in the club for their Division,.

* Parent volunteering as a Coach or as a Game Monitor, is MANDATORY for registration.
* Note: Parents may register their kids ONLY. They CANNOT bring in forms of others kids as well.

Coach will need to learn all 5 games for that Division (Training will be provided) and spend 45 min/week (from October
until tournament) training a group of approximately 12 kids with parent Volunteer help
Coaches are privileged to choose the Day (Monday- Friday) and Session (Morning/Afternoon) for their group
