Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to English II. I'm very excited to be working with you and your child and look
forward to all of the opportunities that this year will hold. I would also like to take this
moment to introduce you to the classroom curriculum, procedures, and expectations. Once
you have read these documents I believe that we will have a mutual understanding of what is
expected from your son/daughter.

In order to help your children to be successful, please review the class
website frequently (http://mssabo.weebly.com). This resource will aid
you in assisting your child in their English II endeavors.

I am a traveling teacher. I will be leaving LWE after second hour,
everyday. For extra help, we will make arrangements before school or
with other English II teachers.

I look forward to meeting with each and every one of you at
Back-To-School night, August 28
th
, and to an amazing new school year.

Ms. Sabo !

Rules &
Expectations
Late homework is accepted up until quarter, for half credit. After the quarter, NO credit
will be given. It is YOUR responsibility to find out what work you are missing and turn
into me.

Please remember that homework is the practice that the students need in order to
effectively learn the concepts presented in class. Students who complete their homework
also tend to do better on their quizzes and tests, because they have had the practice!

Late Assignments
You will be required to keep a binder for this class. This is where all your graded
assignments, tests/quizzes, study guides, bell ringers, etc. will go.
Please keep your binder organized and save everything!
I will be doing periodic checks to make sure that you binder is in order.
Keeping an organized binder will benefit you as it will ensure all of your work is in
one place and ready to study come test time.

We have read and understand Ms. Sabos classroom rules and expectations. We have also read and reviewed
the school rules as listed in the Lincoln-Way Parent-Student Handbook. We are aware of the consequences
that could occur as a result of not following the classroom and/or school rules.

We understand that all the materials must be brought to class each day.

Everyday there will be a bell ringer written on the board. When you get to class, sit in
your seat and get to work on it!
You will get a sheet every 2 weeks and it will be turned in for participation points.

Bell Ringers
You will be given three passes per quarter. They can be used as either a bathroom or
locker pass.
For every pass you do not use, I will give you five extra credit points!

Passes
The number of days you miss class = the number of days you are allowed to make
up any assignment that is due plus one additional day.
It is your responsibility to make up any notes, tests, quizzes, or homework that you
have missed. Check your class folder for an absent work summary page.
All outstanding work such as; tests and quizzes, are due by the end of each quarter in
order to receive credit.

Share enthusiastically!!!
Everyone deserves the right to be heard. Everyone should feel safe to share their views.
Group work is a big part of this course. A team mentality is very important. In life you
will be asked to work as a part of a team. Learning important communication skills now
will help you greatly in the future.
If you choose to put your head down, your desk will be tapped as a courtesy. If you do
not lift your head, you will receive a green sheet for sleeping in class.
