Many thanks are owed to Roadie Joe Barnes, Ed King, various members of the EK board, Lynyrd Skynyrd Dixie, the Outlaws Official message board, and the various videos, photographs, and interviews that I have found have all helped me to fill out this list to this extent. And to the old Official Lynyrd Skynyrd Message Board which got the ball rolling.

BILLY POWELLS EQUIPMENT HISTORY

Pianos Wurlitzer Electric Piano 44 keys Notes: Used in the early days before Skynyrd hired Sound Productions for their live show and before Billy got the Steinway. It had really good response and worked as well as a real piano and would get real loud too. Billy played the shit out of it. - Joe Barnes Yamaha Concert D-6 Made in Japan Used for Workin for MCA, Swamp Music, and Same Old Blues during the 70s 1953 Steinway and Sons Concert Piano Model B 7 ft length Has two of them - one black finish, one white Notes: The White model was in storage at Soundcheck Nashville at the time of the catastrophic flood in May 2010. It was restored to near-perfect condition by piano tech Sam Lewis beginning with evaluations in November 2010, and was restored from February-August 2011. The water damage came up to the middle C note, from there, there was significant humidity damage. Honer Clavine Serial # 781481 Made in Germany Yamaha Concert DX-7 Used during tribute tour and later Mainly used on Gimme back My Bullets Hammond B3 Organ Tuesdays Gone, Simple Man, Red White and blue Baldwin Concert Grand Piano Black finish Called The Layla Piano. Famous piano that is at the Criteria Recording Studios in Miami, FL. Has been used to record the song Layla, hence the nickname. Many other famous artists have used it as well. LARRY JUNGSTRUMS (SKYNYRD) EQUIPMENT HISTORY

Guitars Sears Silvertone Built-in speaker on the body Notes: As with most of the players associated with the band, LJ did indeed have one of these himself. Larry initially used this as a guitar, but then grew fond of playing it as a bass To get the effect he wanted, he added a length of balsa to the neck of his guitar, and another to the bridge to make a Silvertone bass out of this guitar Basses 1950s Fender Jazz Bass Butterscotch Blonde finish w/ black pick guard Had the large metal cover over the bridge and string saddle Notes: RVZ called it the Old Click Ticker because it had a clicking sound that defined the tone - LJ Amps Sunn Amp 15 JBL speakers installed Notes: Used when the band was still The One Percent.
