INITIAL EMAIL TO CM BEFORE REFERRAL IS COMPLETED (IF THEY DO NOT REFER THEMSELVES) TO: CM FROM: MTLD CC: Keiyonna Dubashi Hi CM, I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to extend you the opportunity to work with Keiyonna Dubashi ENCs Real Time Teacher Coach for the upcoming few weeks. As you may know, Real Time Coaching is a supportive tool that is meant to give you in-the-moment input as it relates to management and classroom culture. In her role as a Real Time Coach, Keiyonna specializes in pushing corps members classrooms further along the continuum of Culture of Achievement through successful and consistent use of the NNN 4-step model. The time commitment for Real Time Coaching is minimal, but the pay-off is outstanding. The Real Time Coaching cycle framework looks something like this: Cycle 1: 20 minute pre-conference, 20 minute real time coaching session, 20 minute post - conference debrief Cycle 2: 10 minute pre-conference, 20 minute real time coaching session, 20 minute post- conference debrief Cycles 3-Final Cycle: Same as cycle 2. Real Time Coaching typically lasts between 4 and 6 cycles and is designed to help you rapidly improve in the area of classroom management and culture, regardless of where you start. This email serves to get the process rolling and give you some basic information about Real Time Coaching in general. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me or to Keiyonna directly at Keiyonna.Dubashi@teachforamerica.org You may receive an email from Keiyonna in just a few days, or it may take weeks or longer to actually begin the Real Time Coaching process because Keiyonna is the regions only Real Time Coach and the capacity for each 2-3 week cohort is only about 6 corps members. To this end, when you do hear from Keiyonna, please complete the action items in her email within 24 hours so you dont lose out on this amazing opportunity! Because we dont know for certain how long it will be before you work with Keiyonna, (be as specific as possible about how youre going to support them until they are RTCd.)
Email notice from Keiyonna to CM & MTLDSent once CM is selected for next cohort of RTC TO: CM FROM: Keiyonna Dubashi CC: MTLD Good Morning Name, I hope this email finds you well. My name is Keiyonna and I am the Classroom Management and Culture Coach for the ENC region. Part of my role is to support corps members as a Real Time Coach and its in that capacity that Im reaching out to you today! This email is a long one-- probably the longest one youll get from meever, but theres a lot of important information in here. On Date I will be coming to your school to engage with you in the first cycle of Real Time Coaching in your classroom, a baseline observation! After that we need to meet for our first pre- conference to get the ball rolling. Later this week, Ill email out a schedule for the coaching session and post-conference. When you receive the email, please check to make sure that the times Ive scheduled you for are doable! In the meantime, please feel totally free to reach out with any questions or concerns you have regarding this process and Real Time Coaching. I have or have not received a copy of your schedule, and will confirm times and dates with you within 48 hours. I want to be really open and honest with you at all times throughout this process. Please know that once your dates & times have been confirmed Im committed to meeting you during those times. Because of the rapid nature of Real Time Coaching, there may not be time to reschedule if you need to cancel at the last minute, so please make sure that you schedule times that will not conflict with any of your other responsibilities. You are going to be blown away by the power of Real Time Coaching and I am really looking forward to celebrating that success with you. Thanks, Keiyonna Dubashi, RTTC
Keiyonnas email to principal of school
Hi Principal Zellerman, My name is Keiyonna Dubashi and I am the Classroom Management and Culture Coach/Turn Around Coach for Teach For America Eastern North Carolina (ENC). Part of my role is to use Real Time Coaching as a way to help teachers rapidly improve in the area of classroom management and culture and its in that capacity that Im reaching out to you today! Lee Canters current Teach for America Manager of Teacher Leadership Development (MTLD), Karn Engelsgjerd, recommended her/him as someone who would be a great candidate for this type of coaching. Im planning to begin this work with Mr. Canter during the week of date (Ive already contacted him/her separately via e-mail). If youre available, it would be great to grab some time while Im at your school to chat about priority areas for Lee, whether in person or over the phone. During this time, Id also love to share more about the Real Time Coaching process itself (which includes the use of walkie talkies to provide a teacher real-time feedback and support) and answer any questions you may have, in addition to learning more about your school so that I can best support your teachers. Please let me know if youre interested in setting up a time to talk and well go from there! Genuinely, Keiyonna Dubashi You are going to be blown away by the power of Real Time Coaching and I am really looking forward to celebrating that success with you.
