I am a writer, yoga teacher, and mother of four.

My experiences are diverse and many of my skills


are self-taught. I have a rich well of personal history from which to draw and a passion for learning,

I was personally chosen to write a biweekly column by the blog owner, Chava Kinloch. I research,
develop, and write tutorials for do-it-yourself projects. The goal of my column, OCDIY, was to
make these projects accessible to all people by adding humor and personality.

I did everything from image sourcing and design, content development, editing, marketing,
networking, social media management, research and analysis. I am completely self taught,
including executing a transfer from free blog hosting to self hosted Wordpress. My writing on this
blog included personal stories, recipes, topical discussion, and literary analysis.

FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT, CATONSVILLE COOPERATIVE MARKET 2011-2012
I launched, coordinated, and publicized the ongoing effort to establish a cooperative food market in
Catonsville, serving for one year as the first Steering Committee President. During this time our
movement grew from 4 volunteers to over 100 paying members. I designed and managed the initial
website, newsletter, and social media campaign, as well as launching several fundraisers including
a successful Buying Club.

WORK/STUDY, ROLLING BROOK YOGA, CATONSVILLE, MD 2011-2012
In an effort to serve and enhance my own practice, I volunteered several hours a week at my local
yoga studio. During this time, I handled clients, processed enrollments, and designed promotional
materials. I also launched their social media campaign and newsletter and implemented several
organizational systems for their student records.

LA LECHE LEAGUE LEADER, 2002-2006
In this volunteer position, I planned and taught classes and discussions for adults, lead fundraisers,
and consulted (in person and phone) with new mothers. I have training regarding lactation and
childbirth, in addition to active listening, confidentiality, and community outreach.

DESIGN ASSISTANT, L AND M DESIGNS, GAITHERSBURG, MD 1998-2000
I was an integral part of growing this business, including implementing a client organizational
system, launching and managing bookkeeping and invoicing with Quickbooks, creating design
presentations, marketing proposals, and managing the designers schedule.

NANNY, A CHOICE NANNY, BETHESDA MD 1996-2000
I have worked with children consistently from my sophomore year of high school until the birth of
my first child in August of 2000. I was accepted by the agency, A Choice Nanny, based on my
experience and educational background, to work with infants through school-aged children.
Through this agency, I worked as a full time caregiver and home manager for one family for over 3
years, and on a part-time basis for several others, including a set of infant twins.

During my three years at Olney Childrens Center, I wore many hats. My first position was as a
teaching assistant for the school-aged program. I was then selected to work as an assistant for the
preschool program. I completed my certification and became a school-aged Group Leader in 1997,
and Lead Preschool Teacher in 1998. I was the youngest Lead Teacher at the Center, at 19.

Education

I recently completed this intense six month training program which included classes in anatomy
and physiology, ethics, nutrition, meditation, ample practice teaching, and of course, asana practice.
CCBC-CATONSVILLE, 2010-CURRENT
I am a Deans List student with a GPA of 3.75. I am currently enrolled in classes for the Medical
Laboratory Technician program, with a plan to transfer to the University of Maryland. I am
minoring in Womens Studies.
