70% of students
demonstrated advanced
understanding on their
assessment, 15% of
students demonstrated
proficient, 10% of
students understood the
basics, and 5% of
students scored below
basic on the assessment.
I used strategies that
effectively engaged my
students and helped over half
of the class learn how to
classify recyclable materials.
I will make a note on my lesson plan
encouraging the hands on sorting as
practice. Through interaction and
practice students began to
understand their learning target. The
involvement-helped students reach
mastery.

Out of my twenty students I did
have one student that was
struggling and scored below
basic, as well as two who
scored basic.
I will meet individually with these
students to support them through re-
teaching the objectives, and by
clearly modeling what their learning
target is, I will also modify my future
lesson by incorporating more
differentiation to help those who are
struggling.

(Discovery Sheet)
50% of students
demonstrated advanced
understanding on their
assessment, 35% of
students demonstrated
proficient, 15% of
students understood the
basics, and 0% of
students scored below
basic on the assessment.

The students were required to
create an experiment in class,
and then respond to questions
based off of their experiment.
Perhaps I simply asked two
many questions. During this
lesson I was concerned about
my two students who struggled
from the last lesson and did
not provide high quality for my
advanced students.
Next time I would work to make sure
I am being clearer with my
instructions. I will re-evaluate my
assessment to determine how many
questions I need to see that students
have mastered the learning
objective.
Overall I was successful
in differentiated for my
lower level students,
however my advanced
students did not receive
as much help as they had
before.
Within this lesson and
assessment I did not provide
balanced differentiation for my
students.
I will add to my lesson to provide
differentiation for ALL my learners to
help them achieve success.

60% of students
demonstrated advanced
understanding on their
assessment 35% of
students demonstrated
proficient, 5% of students
understood the basics,
and 0% of students
scored below basic on
the assessment.
During this last assessment I
can see that the students
began to raise the bar and
many of the students
demonstrated proficiency, and
advanced understanding.
For the future I will reflect and
identify what made this assessment
more successful from the last one.
Perhaps my directions were clearer
and the expectation and assessment
were not as overwhelming.
