1. Reaction to the Finance and Performance Committees decision to sell
land in Manukau City Centre and what alternative could have been taken
for Manukaus development with the Land
(as it will have consequences to other Auckland Development projects on
Council land across the City)

Deputy mayor Penny Hulse says the decision was a difficult one, but the money was a
drop in the bucket compared to the councils entire budget. We need to move on and
look for new ways to get money into the machine. The local boards need to look at
their budgets and figure out if they can find other ways to fund the projects they
want.
Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board just lost their alternative revenue stream from the land being sold
The Local Board could have kept 1/3 of all future revenue from the development ON COUNCIL LAND

Note: 1 million square feet is 92,903 square metres
so that is a pretty large development.
