1.1Curriculum Analysis:
The name of this course is convert from delta to star and vice versa
(Resistors) the code is ( ELT 107). The trimester is 2 and the total hours for
this course are 3 hours, 3 hours Lectures, 0 hours practical, 1 hours tutorial.
This course describes four main topics:
(connections, analysis, calculate RT, convert from star to delta and vice
versa)
This course covers construction, principles of operation, classification,
equivalent circuits, Teacher's evaluation, characteristics and applications of
Resistors.
The general objective of the course:
This course aims to give the trainees basic knowledge of construction, theory,
performance analysis and application of the Resistors.
1.2-Content analysis:
convert from delta to star and vice versa.
In this lesson we will talk about connections, convert from star to delta . Also
we talk about star and delta circuit. In this lesson we explain how to calculate
the resistors total. In this lesson we have exam test theoretical .

1.3Didactic analysis:
We start the lesson will be Inductive lesson because we need to give the
trainees some components to let the trainees see the Resistors nearly .After
that we will give trainees the connection , convert star and delta. Then we ask
the trainee about how to convert from delta to star and vice versa in the
circuits .Next we explain about how to calculate resistor total. After that give
the trainee worksheet(1) then solve the question on the worksheet. Next ask
the trainee why to convert from delta to star and vice versa, we give the
trainee worksheet (2) then solve the question on the worksheet (2) about
calculate resistors total. Finally we give the trainee summary about the lesson.

T. asks the students about the circuit
and how to calculate RT ?

T. bring the motor than ask students
about the motor connection .
1) how to connect the motor ?

2) why we connect star-delta?

S. listen and answer the
question, by convert from star
to delta or delta to star .

S. answer the question and
write notes .
1)Star Delta.

2) To avoid damage to the
motor and an increase in
energy consumption.

3) when we convert to delta?

4)why we connect the delta?

3) After the speed up to about
75% of the speed of your
connection is converted to
Delta.

4) Because Delta can bear
loads in excess of the motor.

T. shows the diagrams and equation
for convert from delta to star and
star to delta.

From star to delta:
Ra=R1.R2+R2.R3+R3.R1/R2
Rb=R1.R2+R2.R3+R3.R1/R1
Rc=R1.R2+R2.R3+R3.R1/R3
From delta to star:
R1=Rb.Ra/Ra+Rb+Rc
R2=Ra.Rc/Ra+Rb+Rc
R3=Rb.Rc/Ra+Rb+Rc

S . listen and focus, receive
information and take notes.

T. ask them some question to make
sure they understand.

1) what different between star and
delta ?

2) why we start motor in the
beginning in star?

S. answer the questions .

1) Star has high voltage and low
current and Delta has low
voltage and high current.
2)Because the star has high
voltage ,so we need high-
torque to starting the motor.
