Midterm Successes and Failures

I began this semester with a goal of achieving a 4.0 GPA. I started thinking of what I
should do inside and outside of m classes to get to m goal. I !romised mself that I would
com!lete homework on the assigned da rather than leave it to the ne"t da. #his hel!ed me
because I could remember the material I learned earlier in the da and a!!l it to m homework.
$nce when I left it to the ne"t da I barel remembered anthing. I also took detailed notes in
m classes% so I can refer back to them when I&m doing m homework. For m math class% I
started finding online worksheets to hel! me !ractice and this hel!ed me a lot. 'efore ever math
e"am I would review everthing b reading the sections. (ow I did get a bad grade on two of m
tests but I studied hard after to bring m grade u!. I learned that it takes effort% time% and !ractice
to learn and understand math. In addition% I&m also considering getting hel! from a tutor to hel!
me succeed in this area. As for m english class% I didn&t have trouble. #he readings were a little
com!le"% but it was bearable. )suall with each reading there was a *ui+% and when midterm
came around all those readings were going to be im!ortant. M teacher gave us five different
!rom!ts to write our midterm essa on. I chose the one relating to ,r. Martin -uther .ing /r.&s
0-etter from 'irmingham /ail1. #he grade I got was an A2% but that&s because m teacher rarel
hands out A3&s. 'eside the midterm% we also had a research !a!er. M to!ic of choice was about
the ,eclaration of Inde!endence% but we haven&t gotten that essa back et. For m research
!a!er I broke it u! to different !ieces% because m teacher gave us more than fair amount of time
to do it. I chose to do the classic five2!aragra!h format. 4ach week I worked on a different
!aragra!h and also !roofread it. Also% for m midterm I had taken notes on the margin in m
book% so it was eas for me to write about it. As for m college one class we had a grou! !ro5ect
from our 6ollege $ne 6ourse 7eader. It was about the Four 4ssentials of drive% and we had to
teach it to our class in small grou!s. 4ach !erson in a grou! needed a visual aid% so I found two
!ictures that illustrated our to!ic fairl well. I !lan to remain motivated and finish this semester
and m college ears successfull.
