She momentarily froze as her eyes first set on those sun-scorched sand. I've bee
n much too used with that blank stare of hers: two pieces of leaf-shaped, leaf-l
ight snow that sometimes look at me although I know they don't. Many times had i
t been a Greedy Devil more than twice as tall and several times stronger, threa
tening some swift, brutal surge of gigantic, platinum-plated fists yet how poise
dly those eyes remained distant, cold, and silent. At nights in Hope Canyon, whe
never I light the fireplace, I move further when the warmth, however slight, see

hose cold nights, and I slowly begin to understand her sadness.

ed.

my nerves to do what I needed to do. If it is what will make her happy I must l
et her go.
I opened the backdoor and motioned my hands for her to get out. She seemed to un
derstand what my gesture meant.
She went still for what looked like a day as I stared at her. And then I quickly
turned away when I began to feel my cheeks somewhat burning.
