The Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSi) Screening Unit has
finalised your request for Child-Related Employment Screening pursuant to the Children's
Protection Regulations 2010. I am pleased to advise that you have been cleared for childrelated paid or volunteer work.
The Standards for dealing with information obtained about the criminal history of
employees and volunteers who work with children, published by the Chief Executive in
accordance with the Section 8A(j) of the Children's Protection Act 1993, state that ChildRelated Employment Screening is valid for a maximum of three (3) years. Individual
organisations may, however, have their own policies which define the timeframe for which
this clearance may be valid.
You may be obliged to inform your employer or volunteer organisation if you have been
charged with a criminal offence, or if any other event or incident occurs, including matters
of a child protection or professional disciplinary nature, that may be reasonably
considered to indicate that you pose a risk of harm to children.
This letter is not an offer of employment, registration, accreditation or engagement for any
organisation. Please see the reverse side of this letter for important information.

Please keep this original letter in a safe place as proof of your clearance as it
can be accepted by a number of organisations. The Screening Unit is unable
to provide a replacement letter.
Criminal history information is released to the DCSI Screening Unit in
accordance with the provisions of the Spent Convictions Act 2009 (SA) in
relation to people working with children.
The letter is not an offer of employment or indication that you will be
employed.
Employers please note:
This clearance letter relates to assessments conducted regarding a person's
suitability to work or volunteer in child-related employment, in accordance
with relevant South Australian legislation. It does not purport to be approval
or notification that the applicant meets the requirements for professional or
workplace licence, accreditation or registration purposes.
The clearance letter is not to be accepted as proof of identity. We
recommend you confirm the identity of the holder by other means before
accepting this clearance.
This letter is not a "National Police Certificate". These can only be obtained
from the South Australia Police or other police jurisdictions.

The Standards for dealing with information obtained about the criminal
history of employees and volunteers who work with children state that this
screening is valid for a maximum period of three (3) years. Individual
organisations can elect, however, to conduct criminal history checks at more
frequent intervals for their own risk management purposes.

Original clearance letters are printed on paper which contains security


features to prevent copying and also has a large blue "Government of South
Australia" logo embossed into the background. Should you have concerns
