WHO IS JOSH GROBAN?

Josh Groban is an American Grammy nominated
singer song writer .
He is know for his baritone voice and mature
lyrics.

EARLY LIFE
Born: February 27, 1981 in Los Angeles
Family: Parents Lindy Johnston and Jack Groban, Younger
brother Chris.
Religious Background: Mother and Father both have Jewish
background but both converted to Christianity and their family
is now Episcopalian.
Gorban first debuted as a singer in the 7th grade when he
sang his first solo. He was more focused on theater arts
during high school and early college, but 4 months into his first
semester of College he left school when he was offered a
recoding contract.

BIG BREAK
In 1998 Groban was introduced to David Foster and Brian Avent by his
vocal coach
David Foster is a Grammy award winning arranger and producer and
Brian Avent became Grobans Manager.
In 1999 Groban was working for Foster helping with the Grammy
Awards when he was asked to stand in for Andrea Bocelli and
rehearsed The Prayer with Celion Dion.
After the preformance he was invited by Rosie ODonell to appear on
her show

Closer was released in November 2003, This album became

the top selling classical album of the 2000s in the United States
Groban said that he felt that this album was a better reflection of him
and his personality.
"What most people know about me, they know through my music. This time,
I've tried to open that door as wide as possible. These songs are a giant step
closer to who I really am and what my music is all about. Hence the title." Josh Groban
In 2005 Groban earned his first Grammy nomination for his song You
Raise Me Up.
