For the most part, each fact compares consumption by people in developed countries to that of
people in less developed countries. What is the comparison made by your fact?
I find the size of the gap between the rich and the poor to be the most astonishing fact about this.

What steps, if any, could and/or should be taken by the governments and individual people of the
world to alter the imbalance represented by this fact?
The government of the country could insist and rework the education systems and increase healthcare. If
the children of the nation have a stable and well structured education, they will be able to have
better jobs, therefor helping the countrys people along with its economy, thus creating a small
gap between rich and poor. If healthcare is taken more seriously and considered a priority, the
countrys life expectancy will increase.

The lighter latitude of a country the less job opportunities are available since the higher
the latitude is, the smaller variety of jobs are available, but also, it is harder to have
access to natural and crucial resources.

Eastern Europe (Russia, Ukraine, Turkey) has the lower level of human development in
the continent.

on the theory of core and periphery.

Select one country with a low human development index and review the country information
provided (and or visit CIA World Factbook). Suggest one policy to explain how that country
could overcome the problem of geography.
Afghanistan could put in policies on land exploitation, since that seems to be the root cause for all
of its problems. If such policy is put in place, it can help the land recover its natural minerals,
allowing fresh and drinkable water, more oil, more agricultural land and also allow the
replantation of trees, thus allowing clean and oxygenated air.
