This week children will be exploring letters as a mode of communication. We will be getting the kids to bring in photos of
their homes for Show and Tell and an envelope with their address on it. This will be a way of getting them to think about how
a postman knows where to go to deliver mail. We have our own mail box in the classroom and this will be a focus point this
week. We will teach them the basic information that needs to go on the front & back of envelopes in order for mail to be
received. We will also be creating our own cards and so when we visit the Post Office we will go through the process of
buying a stamp, sticking it on the envelope and then mailing back to our families in Vietnam. We will also explore what
happens after the mail is posted and will be graphing when they receive the mail as a talking point for why we have seen a
shift in the reliance on emails and skyping etc . We will also be making our own class address book.
