B. INSTRUCTIONAL SEQUENCE (Teaching Methodology with Student Activities):


Natalie: "Good Afternoon class, please gather around so we can begin."
What is a pattern?
A pattern is repetition of one item or a group of items. They occur naturally everywhere in the environment. They
can be found anywhere in designs, shapes, colors, or groups of numbers. Patterns help solve patterns.
Lourdes: Will show actual examples of patterns using items such as posters, manipulatives, and group members.

C. APPLICATION ACTIVITY (Practice and/or Reflection):


Song-"Bugs" by
"This will be an interpretative dance on the movement bugs. Please stand in rows"
Group members will then show dance:

Jessica: Make sure you put those moves in your brain!
Ladybugs
Natalie: Youre a ladybug crawling up the tree bark. One, two, three, four.
Erica: Now youve found a nice, crispy, green leaf and youre going to eat it. One, two, three, four.
Lourdes: Make sure you put those moves in your brain!
Butterflies
Jessica: Youre a butterfly about to come out of your cocoon, so hug yourself like youre in a ball, and slowly come
up. One, two, three, four.
Kiara: Now spread your wings and fly in a circle. One, two, three, four.
Josue: Make sure you put those moves in your brain!
*Repeat to show how dance and music is also a pattern.

VI. ACCOMMODATIONS FOR INDIVIDUAL LEARNERS (CONTENT, INSTRUCTION, PRACTICE):


Teacher will pay close attention to help students that may be struggling to understand key terms.
Handout will be available with key terms (Spanish words if needed for ELD students).
Translation will also be available for students in class (Spanish & ASL if needed).
Immediate feedback will be given to students that have questions and need additional information.
Students will be allowed to change movement/s that is/are appropriate for their needs.

On a sheet of paper draw 10 different patterns.
