Directions: Write an informal response to the prompt below. The
response should be a minimum of 350 words andno more than 500 words. Because this is an informal response, I will not be grading for grammar and mechanics. This does not mean you should not turn in your best work. Remember, this is academic writing. This writing will count as a homework grade. Include your word count at the bottom of the page. Prompt: You will be combining the two previous lab efforts in to one, larger Informal Writing (#4) which you will turn in to me for a homework grade. What I'd like you to do today is examine how each of these two articles differ rhetoricallyin their approach to the same topic. Consider these questions:
How does each author "handle" the current event via stance, tone, purpose, etc.?
In what ways do the two authors approach the event in similiar
rhetorical ways?
Does the author's rhetorical treatment of the current event indicate
a level of bias or subjective feeling one way or the other? Note: Although I have never asked you to write a structured informal writing before, for this paper you should have an intro, a specific, argumentative thesis, at least three body paragaphs, and a conclusion. As with other informal writings, I will not be grading this specifically for grammar. I will be looking at content. This is due at the end of lab.
