ABSTRACT

ERNI JOHAN. The Implementation of Cooperative Script Learning to Improve


the students Learning Activity and Achievement of the Eighth Grade Students of
SMPN 5 Lingsar in the Academic Year of 2012/2013. (Supervised by: Aris Doyan
and Syifaul Gummah)
This research is aimed at finding out the impletion of cooperative script learning to
improve the students learning activity and achievement of the eighth grade students
of SMPN 5 Lingsar in the academic year of 2012/2013. The method which was
applied in this research was an action research within two cycles. Each cycle
consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The techniques that were
used to collect the data were test, observation, and questionnaire. The finding shows
that there was an improvement of the students means score and the classical
completeness from cycle to cycle. At the first cycle; the mean score of the students
was ; the percentage of the classical completeness was 70.58%; and the
teacher activity was in fairly good category. At the second cycle, the mean score of
the students was 70.88; the percentage of the classical completeness was 85.30%;
and the teacher activity was in very good category. Based on the findings, it can
be concluded that the implementation of cooperative script can improve the
students learning activity and achievement of physics of the eighth grade students
of SMPN 5 Lingsar in the academic year of 2012/2013.
