Method 1: Communication folders
Communication folders will be used to communicate with parents and families of
the students. These folders will be sent home every Wednesday to track the
students performance in the classroom as well as keep parents aware of the
new events and activities happening the school. In the communication folder,
there will be translated worksheets in the target language provided for ELL
parents. These communication folders will be very useful in terms of keeping the
parents updated with their children performance in the classroom as well as
remain aware of what is going on in the school. Each folder will have a signing
sheet for the parents to sign to show that they have checked the folder and that
they know about their childs school life.
Method 2: Weekly memos
The weekly memos will have all the important announcements, events, after
School activities, sign out sheets as well as the main events of the week in
school. The weekly memos will be given to the parents translated in the target
language to make it easier for them to know all the school activities. Weekly
memos can serve as a constant reminder to the parents that they can always
consult in case they have a question concerning a specific activity.

Method 3: Annual/Monthly calendar:

Annual/monthly calendar is used to highlight the important dates of the school
year such as graduation, holidays and breaks, sport seasons, field trips, the start
and the end of after school activities etc.
Frequency
Method 1: Communication folders will be sent home every Wednesday to the
parents in order to keep on being posted about their childs academic progress
as well as remain aware of the schools activities.
Method 2: The weekly memo will be used every week
Method 3: The Annual/Monthly calendar will be given in the beginning of the
month
Preferred Mode of Communication:
I am a very flexible teacher when it comes to communication. I totally
understand that there will be parents who are experiencing a language barrier,
which prevents them from being involved in their childs life at school. Therefore,
I can try my best to provide a translator or use Google translate to communicate
with these parents in their target language.
