Had the opportunity to work in the Emergency Room and Central Services helping organize
surgical supplies, help comfort patients with food, and prepare patient equipment for rooms.
Manor of Novi Activity Coordinator Assistant (188 Hours)

Organized activities (board games, drawing) for residents at the retirement home and helped
comfort them in any way possible.
MAPI Sikh Community Health Fair (2011-2013) at Providence Hospital (49 Hours)
Helped organize the event by gathering patients and volunteers at my local temple. Worked at the
free health clinic which contained 15 Primary Care doctors and 15 Specialists.

SHADOWING
Henry Ford Hospital Observership Programs (18 Hours)

Rotated shadowing nine different doctors (internal medicine, radiology, general surgery,
neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, intensive care, emergency medicine) for two weeks in July
2013.
Shadowed Dr. Mirza (Internal Medicine) (53 Hours)

While shadowing Dr. Mirza I was able to see patients with fractures, depression, obesity, diabetes,
cardiovascular disease, and hypothyroid. During my experience I also saw EKGs, steroid
injections, and wart removal.
Shadowed Dr. Scheinfeld (Gastroenterologist) (8 Hours)

Saw patients with acid reflux, ulcerative colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome. For the last half of
the day I was able to see colonoscopies, polyp removals, and an endoscopy.

Attended a 10 day long camp at Northwestern University in order to gain insight into the medical
field and learn some essential procedures. Was able to do pig foot suturing, CPR training, use
ultrasound machine, simulated laparoscopic surgery, and intubation. Also had the opportunity to
develop essential leadership skills and had the opportunity to sit through a lecture series
(toxicology, epidemiology, medical ethics, and acupuncture).
