CHILD ABUSE COMPARED TO ANIMAL ABUSE

How does Animal Abuse predict people's tendency to be physically abusive?

1. More than four children, younger than 3 years old, die every day from Child Abuse. Every 10
seconds there is a report of a child being abused. For example Child abuse, physical, sexual, or
emotional maltreatment or neglect of children by parents, guardians, or others responsible for a
child's welfare. Physical abuse is characterized by physical injury, usually inflicted as a result of a
beating or inappropriately harsh discipline. Sexual abuse includes molestation, incest, rape,
prostitution, or use of a child for pornographic purposes.
(2) A survey of psychiatric patients who had repeatedly tortured dogs and cats found that all of them
had high levels of aggression toward people as well. (Haden and Scarpa 1)
A study in Australia proved that 100% of people who abuse animals were younger, they also abused
another animal or their spouse when they got older. Ignorance is the main cause of animal and physical
abuse. Some people just want to be famous on the internet by getting put in news stories and on the
Web. People who see that kind of things dont think of them as famous they think of them as false
celebrities. I think that anyone who even harms an animal or puts a permanent mark on a human
should be do community service.
I feel like some people abuse animals or their significant other because they are unhappy with their life
and they need to be happy and they need to hit something. You should hit something that you cant
leave a bruise on. Both men and women are accused of abusing children and animals. According the US
Department of Justice, there are approximately 572,000 violent victimizations of women by persons
they are intimate with annually. Only 49,000 similar complaints are filed by men.
Once someone permanently abuses you, you need to tell the police RIGHT AWAY. If you dont tell them
right away, your situation could get worse and the abuser could get away with it because the bruises
could be gone by the time you tell the police.

More than 3 million children/adults are abused each year. 5-6 children are abused every 10 seconds. An
estimate of 370,000 people are abused in their homes with in the last year. 14% of men and 11% of
women have been put in jail because they have abused their child.
More than half of the violence we hear about today is not happening between strangers it is happening
between the people who say I love you and have rings on their fingers.
Over 100 million animals are killed in US laboratories for chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing
every year. That is 5 billion cosmetic products sold each year that 380 million people are buying and
using.
One year ago 4.5 child fatalities were due to child maltreatment. In 2012, 500,000 substantiated reports
of neglect were 78.3%

In this article, Patricelli explains that sexual abuse and rape is forcing them to do
something sexually that they dont want to do or dont feel comfortable doing. Sexual rape can
emotionally or physically harm a person for life. Once someone rapes another human being they
can end up by having psychological disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression
and other anxiety disorders more than they were having before they were victimized. You
should not start to blame yourself for being forced to do something sexually that you never
wanted to do. This will help my research because I have it explains that rape isnt something you
can control, and that it isnt your fault, some people are hurt so they decide to hurt other
people for something they have done

In this article, it talks about how many children fatalities are attributed to child
maltreatment. It gives every day statistics about how many children reports of abuse are made
every day, how many people are arrested from abusing their child and children who grow to be
older and have at least one psychological disorder. Children who experience child abuse are
about 9 or 10 times more likely to be involved in criminal activity or be treated for drug abuse.

More than 30% of neglected children will more than likely to abuse a child of their own. This will
help my research because I can have recent statistics on what happened and how many children
have been abused and neglected.

THESIS STATEMENT: People who abuse animals when they are little are more than likely
to abuse their spouse when they get older.
