ISBE
The Illinois State Board Of Education has the responsibility to screen for developmental
delays in children, under the Individuals with disabilities act of 1975. Caregivers and parents can
go to their nearest local school district and ask for an evaluation. If child is under the age of three
a Child and Family connections agency will better serve you. If the child is over three years, an
evaluation will be made through ISBE with specialized personnel.
