What are some ways teens deal with the new parenting life? How does teen
pregnancy effect a teenagers life? What are the positive and negative effects of
teen pregnancy? Today these questions and curiosities are asked everyday by the
society that we live in. Teen Pregnancy has good intentions as well as bad just like
every consequential matter.

While many teens that engage in pre-marital sex never become pregnant,
some are not as advantageous. Teen pregnancy has become all too common in this
day and age. Everyday teens deal with new obstacles in their parenting lives. Not
only do they have to consider parenting life but as well as all the other challenges
they faced beforehand, such as: problems at home, issues at school, pressure from
friends, lack of confidence from within and etc.

There are several outcomes for teen pregnancy and the effects can be life
changing. Most of the teens had not planned their pregnancy, and when heard the
news the reactions of their families and partners wasnt exactly the best memory to
have. However they had very optimistic attitudes of becoming a mother. In some
ways they were ambivalent about the birth, at times suggesting they might have

been too young to be in a situation like this. Instead of seeing the downside of
things together with the feeling that the baby must be protected at all costs. For
women this meant that is was their turn to do things for their child that their
parents hadnt had given them.

There are many websites to visit about information on dealing with a
teenage pregnancy. Tips such as respecting on another, knowing that it is normal to
feel disappointed, angry, and overwhelmed. They help you be calm and give you
an idea of how to prepare for the near future of when the child is to come and after.
Staying supportive if you are the parent or partner. Communication will always
have a big factor on a teenage pregnancies life, especially because now they have
to manage school, a job, and their personal life. Who will be the one taking care of
the baby while youre at school? How are you going to afford another mouth to
feed? Dont have a job? These are very common questions and this is where the
negative aspects of being involved in a teenage pregnancy comes into effect.

By the age of 22, around 50 percent of teen mothers received a high school
diploma and only 30 percent had earned a (GED). Whereas 90 percent of women
who did not give birth during their adolescence years received a high school
diploma. Not only is the education a negative effect in a teen pregnancy but as well
as a wide range of problems such as: lower levels of emotional support and
cognitive stimulation, relying more on publicly funded health care programs,
having higher rates of foster care placement, having lower school achievement and
dropping out of high school, and being unemployed or underemployed as a young
adolescent.
