Resume and Cover Letter

I have really enjoyed learning about all the ways to get things done
just by writing letters. My writing has become more professional. All the
practice that I had over this semester has really helped me become a
better writer. I now feel that I am prepared to face the professional world
with confidence. I plan on becoming a teacher, so communication is
crucial is being an effective teacher. I am more confident in approaching
certain things in my writing.
This new resume that I learned to create will give me the edge I need to
get the job I want. I feel more confident in this whole process. This
assignment is the most important one that I will take away from this
class. I have enjoyed taking this class.

Mr. Billy Hamilton
Human Resource Manager
Burleson Independent School District
1160 SW Wilshire Blvd
Burleson, TX 76028
Dear Mr. Hamilton,
I am applying for the Elementary Teaching position at Frazier Elementary that was advertised on
your website. Currently, I am Student Teaching and will be graduating next month.
I have three years experience working directly with children. My degree will be complete in the
next three weeks and I am eager to put my skills to work. Currently, I am working with third
graders, but I have worked with every grade since I began working with an After School
Program.
My experience has given me more than enough practice to be ready to teach. I have created
lesson plans for differentiated learning, effectively communicated with parents and guardians,
provided guided reading to enhance students comprehension of literacy texts, rearranged a
classroom to have a more person-centered environment. As you will see in my attached resume, I
have outlined my experience and qualifications.
I would love the opportunity to discuss why I would make a perfect fit for your district. My
phone number is (817) 806-6287, or you may reach me by email at amy.shorter12@gmail.com. I
will be available for an interview upon my graduation on May 18, 2016.
Sincerely yours,

Amy C. Shorter
