Research question: Is safety important in daycares?
Thesis statement: Safety is important in daycares
Refined thesis statement: Safety should be used in daycare facilities

The number one concern in daycare is safety. According to B.H studies have shown that
caregivers that have had some education in child development tend to be more sensitive and are
more committed to their jobs. Is your child safe? In order to find out if your child is safe in the
child care facility, evaluate the workers, take a tour and check out what they use for safety
equipment. Even if its rubber mats near the playground, is it safe? Next check and see if the
workers use rugs near the playroom area. Also check and see what the children are doing on a
daily basis and ask the caregivers how much activity they are involved in during the day. If the
activity is too much it should be limited. Limiting too much interaction is a good thing and can
save trouble. This article is relevant because it gives information on what you should look for
before choosing a daycare and it also provides safety regulations.

Avoid daycare dangers. Daycares must be safe at all times. Take a tour at a daycare and watch
how the caregivers interact with the children, do they interact in nice tones? Do they have one on
one time with each child? Talk to each child and listen to what they have to say. Are the children
cheerful? Also interview the caregivers, ask if they like their job, ask if they are experienced in
child development. Also ask what the caregivers procedure is on a daily basis and what their
goals are. Next ask if the daycare has had any safety lessons or practices and if they have then
the caregivers should instruct the parents or guardians on as to what they do. This article is
relevant to my topic because it explains the dangers and how you should regard all the negative
points and focus on what is supposed to happen.

Safety means following the rules although daycare centers must operate according to state
regulations. Caregivers must include the specific amount of chairs, tables, step stools, and
napping cots per child. Safety has concerns with the toys provided they should be washable and
cleaned frequently. Toys should also be appropriate for their age and have no risks in fear of
choking. Caregivers and daycare owners prefer books, and soft toys. Reading books to the
children keep them occupied and out of trouble the books also help them learn unfamiliar colors
or animals. Soft toys help with safety concerns especially if a child decides to chew on the toy or
even throw the toy across the room.

Although safety concerns do not only apply to toys but also equipment in any daycare room.
The concerns may apply to curtain strings, changing tables, or even the faucet knobs. Strings are
a huge concern and must be hung up away from childs reach. Changing tables must be secure at
all times while a child is being changed so he or she does not fall off and get hurt. Lastly
caregivers should watch the children while they wash their hands. Children may have much
knowledge as they arent aware of the hot and cold and may scold their hands. Caregivers should
also help the children to make sure they are washing their hands the right way. This article is
relevant to the topic because it provides information that others could use and is important to
provide.
