TO KEEP, KEPT, KEPT: to stay in a particular state, condition, or position, or to make

someone or something do this keep.


TO AGREE, AGREED: to have or express the same opinion about something as someone else.
TO REPORT, REPORTED: to give people information about recent events,

especially in newspapers and on television and radio.


TO DISAGREE, DISAGREED: to have or express a different opinion from someone

else.
HANDSOME: an animal, people, object, or building that is handsome looks attractive in an
impressive way.
GORGEOUS: extremely beautiful or attractive.
CUTE: very pretty or attractive.
UGLY: extremely unattractive and unpleasant to look at.
POLITE: behaving or speaking in a way that is correct for the social situation

you are in, and showing that you are careful to consider other people's needs
and feelings.
IMPOLITE: it is impolite (of somebody) (to do something).
GENTLE: kind and careful in the way you behave or do things, so that you do

not hurt or damage anyone or anything.


RUDE: speaking or behaving in a way that is not polite and is likely to offend or

annoy people.
AGREEMENT: an arrangement or promise to do something, made by two or more people,
companies, organizations.
PATIENCE: the ability to continue waiting or doing something for a long time

without becoming angry or anxious.


IMPATIENCE: annoyance at having to accept delays, other people's

weaknesses.
FAMOUS: known about by many people in many places.
COMPETENT: having enough skill or knowledge to do something to a

satisfactory standard.
INCOMPETENT: not having the ability or skill to do a job properly.
GOAL: something that you hope to achieve in the future.

WEALTHY: having a lot of money, possessions.


PROFESSION: a job that needs a high level of education and training.
CREDENTIALS: someone's education, achievements, experience etc that prove

they have the ability to do something.


REPORTE: someone whose job is to write about news events for a newspaper,

or to tell people about them on television or on the radio.


WEAKNESS: a fault in someone's character or in a system, organization, design.
MUSICIAN: omeone who plays a musical instrument, especially very well or as

a job.
ASSOCIATION: an organization that consists of a group of people who have the

same aims, do the same kind of work.


DEGREE: written abbreviation deg. a unit for measuring temperature. It can be shown
as a symbol after a number. For example, 70 means 70 degrees.
