What were the strongest aspects of this internship placement?

This internship provided me a great opportunity to learn about how the hotels did the
business in the U.S.. Since I worked in the hotel industry in China, and I still found that
there were a lot of differences. I think this internship made me understand these
differences. This internship also provided me a valuable chance to learn about group
sales, and meeting planning as well. I felt it was very helpful for me and help me fmd
what kind ofjob I really interested in and what I want to do for my future career.
Was the internship placement well structured? Why or why not?
Yes.
Because my supervisor separated the internship as three sections. The first section was
for me to learn the property and how the group sales job looked like. The second section
was for me to participate the sales processes. The last section was for me to try to deal
with some RFPs, write some proposals, and made basic meeting plans. The internship
placement was well organized and structured, and I learned a lot and improved step by
step through these three sections.
What would you recommend to improve this internship placement?
I think this internship was very helpful and valuable for me. But it will be better for me if
I have had more chances to participate in the meeting coordinating processes because I
am interested in doing this job in the future as my career. Overall, I think this internship
experience will be very useful for me in the future.
Was your work and opinion valued by facility management and staff?
Yes
I had chances to work with other staff and departments during the internship, and my
work was valued by the facility management and staff as well.
Would you recommend this internship to other students? Why or why not?
Yes
Because this internship was a perfect chance for me, as a student who majoring in
hospitality, to learn about the industry and get a basic understanding of hotel jobs. It was
directly related to my major and I had an opportunity to apply all the knowledge I learned
form my classes to the real job. This internship also helped me learn many specific skills
and give me many valuable experiences that would be very useful for my future career in
the hospitality industry. I will definitely recommend this internship to other students.
