Good morning class my name is Mr. Gabe

and this is Mr. Kyrillos. Today we are
going to be playing some volleyball. I
know that in the past weve just worked
on some skills such as bumping and
setting. However, today we are going to
be getting into gameplay where you can
show us and your peers everything
youve learned from this volleyball unit!
Before we split you off, we are going to
go over the bump, set, and serve very
briefly. Do we have someone who would
like to volunteer for the bump? Ok
remember to: 1) get in an athletic stance
2) put your dominant hand in your nondominant hand 3) create a platform with
your forearms 4) follow through. Can we
get a volunteer for setting? Remember
we want to 1) get in an athletic stance 2)
make antlers above our head 3) push the
ball with our fingertips 4) follow
through. Finally, can we get someone to
help us with a serve? To serve, we need
to 1) step with the non-dominant foot 2)
hold the ball with our non-dominant
hand 3) tick tock our arm 4) follow
through. Do we have any questions about
the skills we went over? Ok good. So we
are going to assign you guys to a station,
8 each. Skill one will be with Mr. JJ, and
skill two will be with Ms. Kristin and Mr.
Richard. The first health station will be
with Ms. Brydie over there, and the
second health station will be over there
with Mr. John. Alright lets have some fun
guys!

This task will address

SHAPE standard 4 and CA
standard c.
Following this task I
expect students to
understand the skills that
we will be working on for
the day (bump, set, serve)
during gameplay, the
importance of being a
great teammate and being
fully engaged in every
station they are at.

Organization
Students will be seated in their lines on their assigned number. The teachers will
stand in front of them.

Communication
Alright class did we enjoy ourselves
today? Did you guys have fun playing
volleyball? We looked like we had a great
time! Before we set you guys off, we are
going to go over the skills we used
during our games, as well as some of the
basic rules we learned in volleyball. Does
anyone want to show us how to do a
bump/set/serve? Very good! Does
anyone want to explain to us some of the
rules of volleyball? All right thank you
class! We had a great time getting to
know you guys and were honored to
teach such a great class! Have a great
rest of the year!
