(C) at the end of the lesson, describe two tactics used for successfully scoring a goal utilizing

defender by successfully scoring at least one goal per team before the end of the lesson.

SEQUENCE OF LESSON

Students will change in appropriate attire for


soccer in physical education (sneakers,
physical clothing, no jewelry)
Attendance: Students will enter gym
prepared for physical activity and line up for
attendance to be taken by the teacher.
Transition: Students will be move to the
corner of the gym to being the warm-up

Warm-up: Ss will being by jogging around


the gym for 3 minutes and 50 seconds
Students will then arrange in 4 lines ( based
on their pre-determined teams) and perform
the following exercises together (teacher will
cue the exercises, and the students should
verbalize the number of reps)

10 3ct. jumping jacks (1,2,3 1.. 1,2,3


2..)

10 push ups

10 crunches
Teacher will distribute pre-determined penny
colors to specific teams as they are
performing the exercises

ORGANIZATION

Informing:
Introduction to the activity will be announced,
teacher will identify why these stretches are
important and how those muscles are going to
be used during the activity.
Teacher will also touch upon the importance
of warm-up before physical activity

Students will remain in the lines while the


teacher discusses:
Safety: the following issues must be
addressed:

No slide tackling

No pushing

Ball should be kept on the


ground when kicking

No aggressive behaviors
Rules/Procedures:

Students will be instructed to stop and


go with the sound of the whistle

Teacher will not being talking unless


all students are paying attention

If students break the rules, they will be


given one verbal punishment, if broken twice,
students will be removed from the activity for
1 minute. If rules are broken more than twice,
the amount of time for removal will increase

To begin game, both forwards step on


ball, shake hands and say "Good Luck"

Forwards will play rock, paper,


scissors to determine who starts with the ball

Players must begin on their defensive


side of the field

No off sides

No head butting the soccer ball

Goalies can only roll or throw the


soccer ball after a save

Goalies only have hand privileges


when in the taped box in front of the goal


Soccer ball is never thrown in by the
offense, it is kicked in

If the ball gets stuck in a corner or to


restart after a goal, the soccer ball begins at
the midline

If penalty occurs in tapped box, penalty


kick

If penalty occurs outside the box, direct


kick (occurs at location of penalty)
Informing: Teacher will review different
tactics to gameplay, such as the give and go
strategy, one touch passes, kicking the soccer
ball across the field, using the entire field,
using different pathways, and defending by
being in between the shooter and the goal
Refining: Skill Cues for soccer:

Kicking- plant non-kicking foot, point


foot in direction of kick, body weight shifts
forward after kick

Dribbling- push ball with inside of


outside of foot, keep ball close to person

Goalkeeping- low ball: bend down on


one knee, body behind the ball, catch with
both hands
-high ball: punch the ball, or use other body
part to deflect ball

(Darst et al, 2012).


Transition: Two teams will jog onto the field
and begin game play after the teacher blows
the whistle

Activity/Gameplay: Students will follow the


rules and procedures and use strategies to
focus on scoring more goals against the
opposing team.
Transition: The other two teams will split up

together on the sidelines of the soccer field


Activity: Students who are not in game play
will do a soccer word search and then
practice passing with their teammates.
Transition: the two other teams who were at
the sidelines for the first game will switch
with those who just played

Activity/Gameplay: Students will follow the


rules and procedures and use strategies to
focus on scoring more goals against the
opposing team.
Activity: Students who are not in game play
will do a soccer word search and then
practice passing with their teammates.
Transition: the two teams who won their
games will play in a championship game. The
other two teams, on the sidelines, will show
good sportsmanship in cheering on their
teammates during the final game.

Activity/Gameplay: Students will follow the


rules and procedures and use strategies to
focus on scoring more goals against the
opposing team.
Transition: the teacher will ask the winning
team to lead a victory lap once around the
gym with all students. Then the teacher will
ask students to meet in the middle of the gym
for review.
Closure: Teacher will review the importance
of teamwork and strategies when playing
soccer..
