I assume that The Haitian Revolution was necessary because it was the only way for the
french revolution to put to an end.
The Haitian Revolution was the most larger and successful slave rebellion
in the in the western hemisphere. On the 18th century as Haiti was they known

became Frances wealthiest overseas colony because of its production such

as coffee, sugar, gas, indigo and cottons. There were white planters wh

disappointed with France because they were forbidden to trade with other
nations. Most the people were dead. 100,000 black people die out of

500,000 black people, and 24,000 white people die out of 40,000 white people during the fight.
In 1801, Toussaint lOuverture enlarged the revolution beyond Haiti. Yes The Haitian
Revolution was necessary because the revolution ended slavery. This revolution has fought to get
their freedom from being a slave because these people wanted their equal right to live. The
Haitian Revolution started around 1791 to 1804. That many slave was working really hard, they
were working in a way to get their freedom. The French Revolution was involved with the
situation. Haiti was the most successful slave rebellion in the western hemisphere. The Haitian
Revolution became the first black republic in the world, and the second nation of the western

hemisphere after the United State to win its independance a European power. The most
surprising thing was that i didnt know if none of these things happen in Haiti. I wonder what
will happen if the nation will be like this if none of these things happen? I want to learn more
about The Haitian Revolution.
One reason this revolution was not worth bloodshed is because many people die during
the revolution and slavery. People were forbidden to trade with other nations. The root of the
Haitian revolution was the fundamental imbalance in Haitian society. Slaves made up the vast
majority of the population and were oppressed on a daily basis in the most naked ways and
thoroughly deprived economically in a system that produced great wealth. For this slave
population, the most pressing issue was the termination of slavery and the social inequality it
entailed. As the colony was 90 percent slave, this issue was inevitably the focus of the
revolution. The Haitian revolution abolished slavery on the island. It was the first major
successful slave revolt in the Atlantic world, and LOuverture became known among the slave
population of the Americas as a liberating hero. The Haitian revolution also gave strength to the
anti-slavery movement among European peoples. In the following decades, abolitionists used the
example of Haiti to convince slave owners that using free labor was, if nothing else, a good way
to avoid a bloody uprising.
The Haitian Revolution was necessary because Toussaint LOuverture was able to put an
end to the slavery. Revolution had outlasted the french revolution which had been its
inspiration. Napoleon Bonaparte, now the ruler of france, dispatched General Charles Leclerc,
his brother-in-law, and 43,000 French troops to capture Toussiant LOuverture and restore both
french rule and slavery. Toussaint lOuverture was taken and sent to France where he died in
prison in 1803. Jean-Jacques Dessalines one of Toussaint LOuverture generals and himself a

former slave, led the Revolutionaries at the battle of vertieres on November 18, 1803 where the
French Revolution forces were defeated. After, Dessalines declared the nation independent and
rename it Haiti.
