The principle of listening to be a better communicator is important to me because in, my

opinion, this is one of my weaknesses. Listening is the action of putting attention in one special
thing grasped by auditory sense. Learning to listen is the most important thing we can do to
improve the communications in our lives. Many aspects of our life are directly controlled or
indirectly controlled for the ability to listen. Romantic relationships are ending because of
communication problems every day. The ability to listen requires our ears and brain, because we
need to have control of our reactions and trends.
Im planning to incorporate these skills in my life to communicate more effectively:

Be honest

In this principle I gained the ability to understand the purpose of my life. Every disciple
of the Lord Jesus Christ must be a good listener. The skill to listen is a process and takes time,
but is not impossible. Through this principle I can understand the feelings of others and bless
many lives. Sadly, in the workplace environment and every person has problems, some harder
and some easier. For this reason, I will develop my ability to listen to others and be a support for
them. The life of Jesus Christ is the best example of being a good communicator and listener. I

would like to share this scripture, And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked
him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. And when he
was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then said Pilate unto him,
Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And he answered him to never a
word; insomuch that the governor marveled greatly (KJV, Matthew 27).

This scripture touched my heart, because I saw the love Jesus has for us. In my opinion
the attribute of being a good listener is connected with the attribute of humility. For this reason I
will make a goal to practice the principle of listening. I have a business in sales with a nutrition
company. Every day I receive different calls from Mexico and The United States. My clients call
to ask questions, for example, their health needs, symptoms, and the best way to use the
products. For this reason I take time to listen every single aspect of my clients questions to
understand their feelings and create a truthful relationship with my clients because before in my
calls I was giving only instructions. Another way I can to be a better listener is with my leaders. I
have 126 leaders (independent distributors) in Mexico and the United States. These leaders have
the purpose of finding new clients and leaders. Sadly in my calls I was speaking all the time, and
I did not encourage others to talk. Now, I will take the time to listen their needs and ideas to
improve the revenues. In addition, I will also, implement these skills to have the best results in
my business:

The ability to listen is the best tool to having connections with others. If the principal
purpose in this class is to improve our interpersonal communications, then the principle of
listening is key to having success in interpersonal communications. Being a good listener is vital
to many skills. In my opinion God is a good listener. He is listening our prayers every day and
He is deciding the best for us in His time.
