Time of Lesson: 9:00

1. STATEMENT OF THE PUPILS PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

By now students will have an understanding of what plan elevation and end view is. They will be
able to explain which way each view is looking from. They completed a drawing in yesterdays
class so they should be able to line up their drawing sheets and begin the question for
themselves. They should be able to visualize what the elevation of the question will look and be
able to begin drawing it. However they will not yet to b able to complete a whole question by
themselves.
2. RATIONALE FOR THE SELECTION & STRUCTURING OF SUBJECT MATTER
AND FOR THE METHODOLOGY
I chose to teach this lesson in this way as I dont want to be spoon feeding the students with
information all the time. I want them to start problem solving as much as possible. This is why I
will be allowing the students to begin the question for themselves without any help. I am still
keeping the level of the questions quiet easy as I dont want to over whelm the students with

difficult models to draw I would rather to reinforce their knowledge of the procedure to complete
the drawings. As well as this there is a student in the class with a mild general learning difficulty
so I do not want to move on too quickly and leave him falling behind. It is important to pitch
these classes at the right pace so he can keep up but also not to have it too slow paced for other
students so the classes wont become repetitive and boring for them.

3. AIMS
The aims of this lesson are to

Reinforce students knowledge and understanding of the meaning of plan elevation and end-view

Have students complete a full question by themselves without any help from the teacher.

Improve students knowledge on how to use the three different views to solve the questions

4. LEARNING OUTCOMES & CORRESPONDING ASSESSMENTS

5.

PLANNING FOR LITERACY & NUMERACY

In this lesson there will be working drawings put up on the board. These drawings will again
have some dimensions missing leaving the students to have to figure it out for themselves.
6.

PLANNING FOR DIFFERENTIATION

The child with mild general learning difficulty will need a lot of attention which could take
away from the time I could spend with the rest of the class. I will have to gauge how much
time can be spent with him without neglecting the rest of the class.
