Right Atrium Dissection Guidelines

To cut the right atrium:

First, an incision from the
SVC to the IVC.
An additional incision may be
made horizontal below the
appendage

Right Atrial Anatomy

Identify traditional site for pacing
Right Atrial Appendage
Identify and study the selective
sites for pacing
High Atrial Septum (Bachmans
Bundle area)
Low Atrial Septum (Coronary
Sinus)

PIG: coronary sinus

Tricuspid valve

CS
Fossa ovalis

Right Ventricle Dissection Guidelines

To cut the right ventricle:

Identify the Pulmonary artery
Make an incision from the pulmonary artery to
the apex following the RVOT next to the
interventricular groove.
Then, VERY CAREFULLY make a horizontal cut
below the tricuspid valve. Watch to see that
valve is kept intact.
