April global pulp statistics: Shipments decline to 3.626 million tonnes, inventories
fall by one day, shipment-to-capacity ratio dips to 89%

BRUSSELS, May 23, 2014 (RISI) - Global pulp deliveries slid by 4.4% to 3.626 million
tonnes in April, down from 3.791 million tonnes in March, according to Pulp and Paper
Products Council (PPPC) data.
Shipments were 1.5% lower than the year-earlier period, down from 3.683 million
tonnes in April 2013.
Bleached softwood kraft (BSK) pulp shipments fell from 1.927 million tonnes in March
to 1.864 million tonnes in April, while bleached hardwood kraft (BHK) pulp deliveries fell
from 1.734 million tonnes in March to 1.632 million tonnes last month.
Global producer inventories stood at 36 days of supply in April (27 days for BSK and 47
days for BHK), down from 37 days the previous month and three days more than in
April of last year.
