Social Studies Educators will find a plethora of resources (paper) and curricular ideas at JumpStart. It is
geared toward K-8 classrooms but there are a number of activities and lesson plan ideas for Social
Studies teachers.

Purpose: To promote an energy conscious and educated society by creating effective networks. You
can link with other educators, businesses, government agencies, and community leaders involved in
promoting multi-sided energy programs. You can find curricular ideas that will help you connect social
studies with energy education programs. Teachers can find Professional Development workshops in

This site is an outstanding resource for real-world curricular ideas. The Education and Environment
Initiative connects Common Core, Social Science standards with the study of environmental issues,
laws, and policies. Teachers can find Units of Studies for a variety of different real-world issues.

Educators can find a plethora of amazing resources at this University of California, Davis website. This
is a terrific resource for research-based curricular ideas. There are several links to choose from, for
example: The History Blueprint provides assessment tools, student literacy support, and teacher
professional development, aligned to the Common Core State standards.

The Ontario Curriculum is an outstanding Instructional and Curricular design resource. It is the district
plan for integrating the Social Sciences with Humanities grades 9-12. This is a comprehensive
curricular design plan that covers every area of life. A Must See.

This California State University, Northridge website is an outstanding source for curricular ideas. The

based products that are specifically designed to integrate technology into the classroom. You can
