Week two 1

Journal two
Teacher need to create appropriate learning environment for learner through using
several kind of technique. Firstly, active learning it is a method which try to engage learner in
different kind of activities such as discussion, problem solving, games and other kind of
activity. During my teaching I try to make activity which allow learner doing something. For
example, I give learner group project which is about movie maker for grade five. In addition,
learner start to think in group how to design and create creative video. Secondly, teacher
should be aware about instructional equity while dealing with learner. For instance, in the
classroom there are some students who have high level and some of learner have low level.
Therefore, teacher should treat pupil in same way so they dont fight between each other.
Fraser (2002) recognized that to have good learning environment teacher should treat learner
equally and fairly (Kyriacou, 2007, P70). Thirdly, in the classroom each learner they have
various levels, and teacher need to provide materials that help students to understand lesson.
For example, when I give lesson for grade three students lesson about keyboarding I prepare
to different kind of worksheet for different levels to help them to understand lesson.
According to Tomlinson & ebrary each learner they have levels and interest which allow them
to demonstrated what they learn and how (Tomlinson & ebrary, 2001). Finally, each teacher
they have alternative bias during classroom. For example, some of teacher think it is good
chance for learner to be centered but other think differently. Teacher need to change way of
thinking and give learner opportunity to be centered.
During my teaching practice I used several kind strategies to manage classroom.
Firstly, I made alternative cards for learner for different purpose. For example, there is card
for students who want to leave class to see teacher or principal and the color of card green. In
addition, there is another color which is red for students who want to go to the bathroom.
Secondly, Ahmed bin Majid is boy school and most of children make noise when they raise
hand so I make card which has the number to reduce noise. According to Kyriacou that
teacher can use various strategies to help her/his to reduce misbehavior (Kyriacou, 2007, P)

The important part teacher need to considerate about it is engage learners. Research
emphasize that using appropriate engagement in learning process will develop students
attention, focused and stimulate learning experiences Engaging Students in Learning. (2014).
When I plan lesson I use various kind of warming-up with different level so students involve
during lesson. On Tuesday I prepared lesson for grade three about keyboarding, before I start
my lesson I asked students to find out what is our lesson. In addition, I asked them to work in
groups of four and I gave them envelop which has a jigsaw game. Therefore, learner worked
together and they was working hard to find out what is the lesson about. Last semester I was
teaching high school so when I engage students I prepare some mind warming. For example,
I give students three sentence and one of them has mistaken so students find out which one
has mistake by providing reason. In Ahmed bin Majid School it is difficult for me to make
students centered because I follow my MST way of teaching. However, when I ask question I
give learner chance to think. For example, when I had lesson for grade four about creating list
through using PowerPoint, I ask learner to find out by them self without giving them answer.
According to Fraser (2002) view that to have suitable learning environment the teacher should
involve learner during lesson (Kyriacou, 2007, P70).
Safety is prior things that the school and teacher should be aware about it and educate
learners. Kostelnik, Soderman & Whiren demonstrated that the first thing we need to teach
children is how to be safety and teacher will have all responsibility to educate learner what is
safety and dangerous (Kostelnik, Soderman & Whiren, 2011). There is some useful things
that school provided for leaner to help them to avoid any danger. Firstly school have some
signage to exit the school if they have any emergence. In addition, in some teacher post some
poster to help learner to know how to deal with any situation. This very important because if
school didnt teach students they will have problems. Secondly, teacher try to make sure
students walk in stairs safety and not running. This is because if anyone run or push other
students they may hurt other. Moreover, teacher afford protection in each classroom. To begin
with, in the classroom they have small box which called first aid. Because some students play

with teacher equipment or educator give learner some activity and students may injure them
self so teacher can help them. Secondly, I use safety rules during lesson such as how to seat in
appropriate way. Furthermore, I try to make sure students safety when they enter classroom
and when they leaver by making line so no one can push each other. Thirdly, safety when
they dealing with computer and connect to cable. This all important and teacher need to teach
learner to avoid problems and make safety environment to support learner to learn.
