He Loves Hot Dogs

He was driving home. He couldn't wait to get home. He was

hungry. He hadn't eaten in eight hours.
Eight hours ago he had eaten two hot dogs. The hot dogs were
delicious. He had put lots of mustard, onions, and relish on the hot
dogs. They were so delicious.
He got home. He walked upstairs. He walked into his apartment.
He opened his refrigerator. He took a package out of the
refrigerator. It was a package of hot dogs.
He took two hot dogs out of the package. He put them into the
microwave. He took mustard, onions, and relish out of his
refrigerator.
He grabbed two hot dog buns. He was ready to eat two more
delicious hot dogs!

Ele estava dirigindo para casa. Ele no podia esperar para chegar em casa.
Ele estava com fome. Ele no tinha comido em oito horas.
Oito horas atrs, ele tinha comido dois cachorros-quentes. Os cachorrosquentes foram delicioso. Ele tinha colocado muita mostarda, cebola, e

Ele chegou em casa. Ele subiu as escadas. Ele entrou em seu apartamento.
Ele abriu a geladeira. Ele pegou um pacote fora da geladeira. Era um pacote

Ele levou dois cachorros-quentes fora do pacote. Ele coloc-los no microondas. Pegou mostarda, cebola e tirou com prazer de sua geladeira.

Learn to Swim

It was summer. Swim classes were beginning. She didnt know

how to swim. She wanted to learn. She called up the pool. Do
you teach adults how to swim?, she asked.
The instructor said: Yes, we teach adults how to swim. We teach
kids how to swim. We teach everyone how to swim.

She asked how much. How much do you charge?, she asked.
We charge only $25 for adults, the instructor said.
She gave him her name. He put her name on the swim class list.
You are on the swim class list, he said. Your first lesson is
Saturday at noon. Bring $25 and a towel.
She asked: Thats all I need to bring?
He said: Im sorry. Bring your swimsuit, too.
Era vero. Aulas de natao estavam comeando. Ela no sabia nadar. Ela
queria aprender. Ela ligou para a piscina. "Voc ensina adultos a nadar?", Ela
perguntou.
O instrutor disse: "Sim, ns ensinar adultos a nadar. Ns ensinamos as
crianas a nadar. Ns ensinamos a todos como a nadar. "
Ela perguntou quanto. "Quanto voc cobra?", Ela perguntou. "Ns cobramos
apenas R $ 25 para adultos", disse o instrutor.
Ela deu-lhe o seu nome. Ele colocou seu nome na lista de aula de natao.
"Voc est na lista de aula de natao", disse ele. "Sua primeira lio
sbado ao meio-dia. Traga US $ 25 e uma toalha ".
Ela perguntou: "Isso tudo que eu preciso levar?"
Ele disse: "Sinto muito. Traga seu traje de banho, tambm. "

Im a security guard in a big department store in central So Paulo. Its

not a bad job, but sometimes it can be a bit boring. If somebody tries to
steal something from the store, an alarm goes off and I have to chase
them down the street. I like that part of my job, but the rest of the time, I
just have to stand near the door and watch people. Thats not much fun.

leitura ser mecnica e sofrida. Porm, a coisa pode ficar mais fcil se

Escreva estes chunks em seu caderno de vocabulrio [Lexical Notebook].
Anote as equivalncias. Se possvel crie alguns exemplos [ou marque no

com as palavras que faltam. Lembre-se que voc est sendo testado
apenas nos chunks vistos na lista acima. Tente lembrar-se de memria as
palavras que faltam.
