Q2: Paul of Tarsus video
Gr. 8 Biblical Studies Reflection Questions (11/18/14)
1. Put yourself in Paul, Peter, Stephen and other Jesus disciples shoes. Could you have done
the same (going to prison, getting flogged and killed) just because of Jesus? Why or why
not? Please be honest and thoughtful when answering this question.
If I were one of them, I wouldve to gone to prison but I would have not been so daring to die
as a martyr of Jesus even though I know that God will be there for me and He will save me. I
wouldve just believed in Him.
2. Consider yourself living in that time of Jesus. A stranger comes and proclaims that he is the
Messiah. How would you have reacted to it? Why?
I wouldve been surprised because before he came, no one has ever claimed to be the
Messiah. I wouldve not believed in him because he has never done anything that proves that
what he says is true. If he did miracles and wonders, I would believe in him.
3. Imagine yourself walking around different parts of Southeast Asia telling people about Jesus.
You are all alone; you dont have a definite place to sleep every night or food to eat every
meal. You need to know and remember all the messages correctly to be spoken in front of
many crowds. Many people are chasing you wherever you go. How would you feel about this
and what would you say to God? Why?

I would be really scared and worried because if I speak the wrong thing to the crowds or I
walk the wrong direction, I might end up with bad consequences. Even so, I would have
asked God for His guidance and protection because I know that God wouldve liked it if I
preached His Words to other people. I also wouldve asked God to speak through my mouth
so that everything I say will be His true Words.
4. Why do you think God let evil people like Reuben and persecutors of Christians to do what
they were doing? Why do you think the Almighty God who can do anything didnt just zap
and kill them all?
God let them stay alive because he wants all the people on Earth, including them, to believe
in Him. He wants His believers to spread His words to them and also make them repent from
their sins just as what happened to Paul.
5. What do you think about Pauls saying that, Christ is the end of the Law? Do you think the
Law should be kept and be followed? What is the importance of the Law and why were the
Jews so attached to it?
Paul means that because Christ has already come, the Law is not needed anymore. I think the
Law should not be kept because Jesus has already come to redeem us from our sins and He
has made it easier for us to have a relationship with Him. The Jews were attached to it
because this law has been made a very long time ago and it must be followed. They also
thought that if they followed the Law, they would go to heaven when actually, they just need
to believe in God.
6. Please submit your notes that you took while watching the video. It will be a part of your

7. How would you have reacted if God spoke to you and has told you that youll be His faithful
servant and that youll die serving Him? Why?
If God spoke to me, I wouldve felt really blessed because from all the people on the Earth,
God has chosen me to be His faithful servant. It wouldve been an honor for me to spread His
Words everywhere. I wouldve followed His commands because I know that His plan is
always the best. If He said that I would die serving Him, I wouldve been scared and worried
because I might die anytime.

we must spread His words to other people so that they can also be saved. I learned that we
just need to believe and have faith in Him in order to go to heaven.
