Student Expectations:

We are NOT an online packet program or self-paced. You will need to stay caught up in your
classes and assignments to pass. You WILL have due dates you need to meet.
If you get sick or go on vacation, you need to make up those hours before or after.
Every HS student is required (by Utah state law) to spend an average of 5.5 hours in school per
day/27.5 hours per week.
Keep track of the time you spend in each course each day. Give that list of time spent to your
Learning Coach so he/she can mark attendance.
ClassConnect attendance is required. If you cant make it live, watch the recordings.
Communicate with your teacher if there is a problem.
YOU are responsible for communicating with teachers. If you dont tell us whats going on (if you
have special circumstances or just dont understand a concept), we cant help you very well.
Check your kmail DAILY. Respond to kmails as needed.
Answer the phone or call back when a UTVA staff member calls or leaves a message.
Because were a free public school, we have all the same tests that any other public school does.
Make yourself available for those testing times.
Grades matter! 60% is a D- and is the lowest grade that will give you credit for the course.
Grades are final at the end of each block!

Learning Coach Expectations:

Check and respond to kmail!

Monitor your students classes, assignments and progress.
Check your students grades in their course gradebook.
Communicate any difficulties, questions, or upcoming absences with your students Homeroom
or course teacher.
