da Vinci, Leonardo. The Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci, complete by

Leonardo da Vinci. Richter,
P Jean. 1883. Website
As the central figure of the Renaissance, all of his drawings, ideas, and
beliefs have been recorded in this journal. Leonardo wrote art techniques and
theories, sculpting, architectural structures, anatomy, zoology, physiology,
astronomy, physical geography, topography, naval warfare, mechanical
appliances, music, philosophy, and mathematics.
I incorporated this source as a primary resource because of its proof of
Leonardos vast discoveries and techniques, proving him as the
unquestionable figure of the Renaissance, as his legacy and leadership,
respectively. This gave me great information on his discoveries and
inventions that we still use today.
da Vincis Letter to the Duke of Milan. Da Vincis Letter to the Duke of
Milan. Web. 21 Oct.2014
Leonardo was applying for chief engineer for the Duke of Milan, and
describing what he could do- which was an enormous amount of engineer,
and an afterthought of being an artist. His engineering could create many
useful objects such as bridges, cannons, armored wagons and ships, and
paintings and sculptures.
This source was very important because it highlighted the themeLeadership and Legacy in History to Leonardo da Vinci. A chief engineer
requires great leadership to both create the plan and to carry the plan out.
His legacy remains as the engineer for the Duke of Milan to create many
sculptures and other things of that sort.
