Family
Activity Time
Vocabulary: Mommy, Daddy, Baby, Brother, Sister, Grandma, and
Grandpa.
Sentence structure: Who is this?.......(Mommy, Daddy, etc.)
Activities:
We will review the flash cards to confirm comprehension. We will sing
the Family Fingersong and Wheels on the Bus. We will use pictures
and play games for better understanding. Games: Fly Swat (to correctly
choose the correct vocabulary word) and Corners (to get the students
activated and using all their built up energy).
Phonics
Song:
Finger family This song gets students activated and associating vocabulary with
an action. This will help the students not only memorize the vocabulary but
comprehend the words in a fun way.
Wheels on the Bus- The version of this song also uses family members on the
bus.
Review
There are no new letters or sounds. We have already learned all of the Jolly Phonics letters. Now
we are practising recognition.
