6. Using the Play Controls, listen to your track and identify the 30 second
segment of the song you plan to use in your project. (Each tic is 10 seconds)
7. Click the approximate point on the music track at which you want the 30 second segment to begin. This will give you a
line across the track. Click PLAY to test your starting point and adjust as needed. Hover your mouse on the RIGHT side of
the line until a hand pointing LEFT appears. When the hand appears, CLICK AND DRAG toward the BEGINNING until you
reach start of the track music track and release your mouse click. The selected segment will be gray.
8. Select EDIT from Task Bar REMOVE AUDIO DELETE
9. Click the approximate point on the remaining music track at which you want the 30 second segment to end. This will
give you a line across the track. Hover your mouse until a hand appears and CLICK AND DRAG toward the END of the
song. Release your mouse click. The segment will be gray. REPEAT STEP 8.
10. TO SAVE YOUR CLIP Select FILE EXPORT COMPUTER YOUR NUMBER MusicIDproject
*change file name adding CLIP to the end of the file name (EX: NoWomanNoCryCLIP)
11. Repeat steps 1-10 to make each 30 second music clip.

10. Connect Headphones to computer: Red Jack into MIC portal and White Jack into HEADPHONE portal.

11. Go to Windows Launch to Search & Open Audacity (You MUST have headphones connected
before opening Audacity.) *At MICROPHONE icon slide INPUT VOLUME to approximately 0.8
