Complete your mind map pages in your
sketchbook. Make sure the pages are dynamic

DRAWING WORKSHOPS
Complete a series of first and second hand drawings
of your still life set up. Include continuous line
drawings, line drawings, tonal drawings and also
zoomed in sections of your still life.
Take a series of photographs of your still life set up.
Use simple collage backgrounds and different
surfaces (E.G. maps) to draw on top of.
DRAWINGS 1 week homework
Complete your drawing pages started in class
and extend/develop these at home.
Complete 1-2 quality two-hour (minimum)
detailed tonal drawings from your
photographs.
EXPERIMENTAL WORKSHOPS
Create a series of physical experiments dipping,
wrapping, covering, manipulating objects related to
your chosen theme. You may choose to dip your
objects in plaster, wrap them in silver foil or cling
film, or stitch two objects together (E.G. stitch
together an apple and an orange half). Photograph
your experiments.
INDEPENDENT EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES
Complete a series of experimental studies
independently exploring your chosen theme.
Take a risk with your experiments. Document
your experiments in your sketchbook using a
camera/drawings/annotation.

GALLERY VISIT TATE MODERN

In lesson, document the drawings and research that
you did at the Tate Modern in a dynamic way in your
sketchbook. Annotate how the artwork relates to the
theme. Include leaflets and key words from the
literature and postcards within your sketchbook
design. In class, find out more about the artists that
interest you and add drawings/images to extend the
gallery visit work.
INDEPENDENT PHOTOSHOOT
Take a series of photographs between 20 and
40 of your chosen theme. Consider the
composition, lighting, scale of your
photographs. Always consider the concept of
together vs apart. How can you explicitly show
this in your photographs?
Print out your photographs by your first lesson
back after half term and present in your
sketchbook in an interesting way.
PRINTING WORKSHOPS
Create a series of prints using your photographs that
you have taken. Printing workshops may include
etching, poly printing, screen printing, mono
printing, spray painting stencils.

Create a double page of experimental
drawings from your photographs that you took
over half term. Include a variety of media
including pen/fine liner. Work on top of a
variety of drawing surfaces. Try and link and
connect your drawings with other aspects of
your sketchbook. E.G. your Tate visit.
ARTIST STUDY
Create a double page artist study on your chosen
artist that relates to your theme/area of study.
Include images and drawings and information in an
interesting way.
ARTIST RESPONSE
Create an ambitious artist response inspired
by your artist. This could be a sculpture, a
painting, a series of photographs, a print or a
collage. Take a risk with your work!
