Naturalfrequencyisthefrequencyatwhichasystemtendstooscillateintheabsenceofanydrivingor
dampingforce.[1]
Freevibrationsofanyelasticbodyiscallednaturalvibrationandhappensatafrequencycallednatural
frequency.Naturalvibrationsaredifferentfromforcedvibrationwhichhappenatfrequencyofappliedforce
(forcedfrequency).Ifforcedfrequencyisequaltothenaturalfrequency,theamplitudeofvibrationincreases
manifold.Thisphenomenonisknownasresonance.[2]
