ATMOSPHERES
Organic and metallic products which create powder and dust form can also, in certain conditions,
become an active agent of explosions. Any location where these products are made, stored,
and processed may be considered a potentially explosive atmosphere.
As defined by 2 of the ElexV, are areas in which a dangerous explosive atmosphere could
arise due to site and production-induced conditions. In order to judge the degree of protective
measures required, the areas liable to explosion are classified by the operator into zones
according to the probability of an explosive atmosphere arising.
